Concorde For London
"I think an easily accessible Concorde exhibit in London would help remind people of what we had achieved, and seeing it may inspire someone to do it again"
Capt Les Brodie, who commanded last ever Concorde flight, Alpha Fox,
from LHR to Filton, 26th November 2003
This satellite image shows the proposed site of the Concorde display pavilion which is situated between the London Eye and Hungerford bridge. The unmistakeable profile of Concorde Alpha Bravo can be seen in the centre of the pavilion.
As the London Eye has a diameter of around 540ft, the scale of the Concorde pavilion is put into perspective. Concorde herself is just over 200ft long and just under 90ft wide.
This aerial close-up view of the display pavilion shows the Concorde centre stage, surrounded by facilities, such as the history of the aircraft, memorabilia shops and Captains' bar and restaurant. The Speed Gallery will include British speed icons, such as Formula One cars, vintage sports cars and guest icons such as Genevieve, on a rotating basis.
