Club Concorde, the Concorde Captains' Club plans to open a unique club in Central London. Facilities will include a 100 seater Concorde Lounge/Restaurant serving Concorde cuisine, a Captains' Bar, corporate presentation area, coffee bar and memorabilia shop.
Looking for a home for Club Concorde in London
The picture shows the Club Concorde team near County Hall, searching for potential venues in Central London. Says Paul James "We are looking for a small hotel, which could be converted into a Club or a joint venture with a major hotel group, where part of an hotel would be converted to Club Concorde. A major hotel group would give us more scope to establish other Club Concorde’s overseas, in cities such as New York, Chicago, Seattle and Toronto, all strongholds of interest in Concorde."
The Club would be a showcase for a unique collection of Concorde artifacts and memorabilia. Members and their guests would enjoy Concorde cuisine as well as fine wines from the Concorde cellar. Concorde flight crew would be available for presentations to members and corporate groups.
Club Concorde are also actively involved with several Concorde installations in the UK especially with Concorde Alpha Charlie at Manchester. "We have been working closely with Colin Harris who is in charge of the Concorde installation and we are proud of our part in lobbying for a new purpose built hangar which will open in July 2008. Weddings on Concorde are popular, and we have just received a request from a future bride to send one of our Captains along as a surprise guest, says Paul.
Club Concorde have also received a request from the Museum of Flight in Edinburgh to put forward marketing proposals which will raise more revenue at their Concorde installation at East Fortune.
